RTC Prater Way Paving Map

Beginning the week of October 9, Prater Way will be reduced to one westbound only lane from Pyramid Way to Rock Blvd.

Dear Stakeholder:
Below please find the project update for the week of October 2 and anticipated traffic control for the week of October 9, 2017.

Upcoming Prater Way Closures, Traffic Controls Due to Construction
Construction crews are continuing to work on the 4th Street/Prater Way Bus RAPID Transit (BRT) project. The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) anticipates the following upcoming closures and traffic controls:

  • Friday, October 6, 2017: Prater Way will be closed between Pyramid Way and 9th Street from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. for paving. Detours will be in place.
  • Thursday, October 12 – Tuesday, October 24, 2017: Prater Way eastbound will be closed to traffic for paving. Prater Way will have only one westbound lane open to traffic. Detours will be in place.

Drivers and bicyclists are urged to plan an alternate route or follow detour signs. Construction operations are weather dependent. For the latest updates, text 4PRATER to 797979, or visit 4thPrater.com to sign up for email notifications.

Ongoing
The north side of the roadway is closed for demolition and roadway reconstruction from Pyramid Way west to Rock Blvd. Businesses are still open. Traffic is shifted to the south side of the roadway. One lane in each direction will be maintained. Business and residential access will be maintained.  Drivers can expect minor delays.

Traffic control is in place from Rock Blvd. to Evans Ave. The south side of the roadway is closed for demolition and roadway reconstruction. Traffic is shifted to the north side of the roadway. One lane in each direction will be maintained. Business and residential access will be maintained.  Drivers can expect minor delays.

Traffic control on Prater Way/4th Street between El Rancho Drive and Galletti Way includes lane reductions and a three-way stop east and westbound and at the I80 westbound on and off ramps.  Traffic lights at I-80 eastbound on and off ramps are still functioning normally.

For the safety of drivers, riders and crews, RTC bus routes 2, 5, 11, 13, 15, 25 and 26 are detoured. Access RTC Transit Services for more information. Detours will be in place throughout the summer.

Notes
Weather dependent, traffic control may include sidewalk closures, lane closures and minor detours.
Possible lane shifts with flagger throughout the project corridor.
Traffic control and work zones will be in place and changing frequently.  Use caution and look for flaggers for direction.  Brief delays can be expected
