4th Street|Prater Way Bus RAPID Transit Project Weekly Update: August 25, 2017

Below please find the project update for the week of August 21 and anticipated traffic control for the week of August 28,
2017.

Traffic Switch

Beginning Tuesday, August 29, the north side of the roadway is closed for demolition and roadway reconstruction from Pyramid Way west to Rock Blvd. Businesses are still open. Traffic is shifted to the south side of the roadway. One lane in each direction will be maintained. Business and residential access will be maintained. Drivers can expect minor delays.

Community Appreciation Event, Saturday, August 26 at Deer Park

The RTC 4 th Street|Prater Way project team appreciates local businesses and the community’s patience during construction. Please join us on Saturday, August 26 from 1 to 3 pm at Deer Park on Prater Way for a community appreciation event. The event will include light refreshments; an opportunity to meet and ask questions of the project team; local business information, and the chance to receive two tickets to the rib cook off by signing up for project updates. We appreciate the community’s patience and partnership during construction as we make a major investment in the corridor with improvements from increased mobility and safety to beautification and operations.

Traffic Control for the week of August 28, 2017

  • 21st Street closed at Prater Way. Use signed detour.
  • Tuesday, August 29 traffic switch to south side of roadway.
  • Partial ramp closures on 4th/Prater at I-80 and Galletti Way.
  • Possible partial closure at Eureka Ave.
  • Restricted access in alley west of Reno Sparks Gospel Mission

Ongoing
Eastbound Victorian Ave. from Kietzke Lane to Prater Way is closed. After the east side of the roadway is complete, the
westbound lanes will be closed. The closures are needed for roadway reconstruction and utility improvements. Please use
Prater Way and El Rancho Drive detours.

Pyramid Way west to Rock Blvd. Businesses are still open. Traffic is shifted to the south side of the roadway. One lane in
each direction will be maintained. Business and residential access will be maintained. Drivers can expect minor delays.

Traffic control is in place on from Rock Blvd. to Evans Ave. Way. The south side of the roadway is closed for demolition and
roadway reconstruction. Traffic is shifted to the north side of the roadway. One lane in each direction will be maintained.
Business and residential access will be maintained. Drivers can expect minor delays.

For the safety of drivers, riders and crews, RTC bus routes 2, 5, 11, 13, 15, 25 and 26 are detoured. Access RTC Transit
Services for more information. Detours will be in place throughout the summer.

Notes

  • Weather dependent, traffic control may include sidewalk closures, lane closures and minor detours.
  • Possible lane shifts with flagger throughout the project corridor.
  • Traffic control and work zones will be in place and changing frequently. Use caution and look for flaggers for direction.
  • Brief delays can be expected
