24 Mar 4th Street|Prater Way Bus RAPID Transit Project Weekly Update: March 24, 2017
Below please find the project update for the week of March 20 and anticipated traffic control for the week of March 27, 2017.
High Season Water Deadline Approaches
The project team is working diligently to install underground water main improvements before peak water season approaches. Demands for water increase dramatically afterMarch 31, so the team is working closely with the Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) to enhance water mains throughout the project corridor. Water demand can increase up to 400% in the summer months, mostly because of outdoor watering. To increase efficiency and reduce impacts to the community, the project team is combining utility installations wherever possible.
“We are working to meet the high-water season deadline, but we are also installing electrical and other utility enhancements at the same time,” said Warren Call, RTC Project Manager.
