4th Street|Prater Way Bus RAPID Transit Project Weekly Update: February 17, 2017

Dear Stakeholder:

Below please find the project update for the week o f February 13 and anticipated traffic control for the week of February 20, 2017.

Project Corridor Lane Reductions

Weather dependent, next week, February 20, 2017, the project team will begin preparing to shift traffic to the north side of the roadway throughout the project corridor.  The shift is necessary for the safety of the community and workers during construction. Closing the south side of the roadway allows crews to combine construction operations and maneuver large equipment safely throughout the work zone. All businesses remain open and access will be maintained. In the event of an outage or service disruption, business/property owners or residents will receive a written notice at least 72 hours in advance and personal contact/notification at least 48 hours prior to service disruption.

Traffic Control Week of February 20, 2017

  • Weather dependent, traffic control may include sidewalk closures, lane closures and minor detours.
  • Construction crews will be preparing to switch traffic to the north side of the roadway throughout the project corridor from Pyramid Way west to El Rancho Dr. The project team anticipates the south side of the roadway will be closed beginning the week of February 27, 2017.  One lane in each direction will be maintained. Business access will be maintained.
  • The City of Reno sewer rehabilitation project is underway. Until approximately Saturday, February 26, East 4th Street from 6th Street to Galletti Way will have various lane restrictions and the eastbound traffic lanes will be closed to through traffic.
